2006 Costume
Here you will find photos and videos of this year's men's and women's costumes. Designer Doris de Hilster designed the costumes here in Long Beach and the costumes are being made and shipped from Brazil. This year's costumes are inspired by our theme of Lula Almeida, one of the founding members of Olodum. Doris' designed what she calls the "Malandro Bahiano" or "Streetwise Guy and Gal".

Men's Costume 2006
Designed with the colors of Olodum in Bahia, this costumes respresents the "Baiana Malandro" or "Street-wise Guy from Bahia (Northern Brazil). It includes pants, a very beautifully worked vest, and a hat.
